Is there an investment minimum? We welcome clients with varying portfolios sizes. To give you a point of reference, many of our clients are high-net-worth individuals, families and businesses with household incomes of more than $150,000 and investable assets of more than $500,000. That being said, we look forward to helping clients at any stage of life and with any account size.

How are your fees determined? Our fee structure is based on the value of your assets, a commission per transaction, or a combination of these methods. Regardless of assets or method, our fee structure is always based on what’s best for each client.

Do you have custody of my investments and accounts? No, we do not take possession or act as custodian of your assets. Instead, through our broker dealer and investment adviser Capital Financial Services Inc., we use the custodial, trading and reporting services of RBC Capital Markets, a leading financial clearinghouse. Accounts are held in your name, and you always remain in control of your assets. This custody arrangement also provides important levels of protection for your account.

Can you tell me more about account security? Absolutely. Our relationship with RBC Capital Markets affords all of our clients the safety and protection features of a strong financial partner. In addition, your assets are protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corp. (SIPC) and by an additional policy purchased through Lloyd’s of London. What types of investments do you recommend? What is your investment philosophy? As an independent advisory group, we have access to a deep and broad universe of industry-leading products and services, with no allegiance to any parent or proprietary company. This is an important distinction because it puts us on the same side of the desk as our clients. Our investment decisions are always based on what we believe is right for you, the investor, with your goals and values in mind.

What level of service can I expect? We take a high-level, holistic approach to financial planning and services, so no financial question or consideration is beyond our purview. Our concierge level of service might include guidance about home, vehicle or other big-ticket purchases, creative financing strategies, assistance during professional or personal life changes, professional referrals, legal or estate issues, or assistance with any facet of your financial life.

How often will we communicate about my account? Will we meet regularly? Our goal is to reach and exceed your expectations regarding this aspect of customer service. Some clients like regular meetings, while others prefer to keep meetings and calls to a minimum. Please never hesitate to let us know if you have any concerns in this important area.

I have other professional advisers. How will you work with them? We understand successful people and businesses have numerous professional relationships that affect their financial future. We work closely with our clients’ attorneys, tax advisers, accountants, business consultants, trusted family members or friends, and even other investment advisers to make sure the financial solutions we recommend make sense on every level of your financial life. If you are looking for professional references in any of these areas, we will be happy to recommend our trusted partners.

May I ask about your compliance background? No question about our qualifications, experience or compliance history is out of bounds.
